2014 is the fifteenth year of the third millennium. It is the primary setting of the Futurama/The Simpsons crossover episode, "Simpsorama".

Events[]

  • Springfield Elementary School buries a time capsule that's not meant to be opened until the year 3014.[1]
  • Bart Simpson blows a snot rocket into his sandwich and puts it into the time capsule. Due to the time capsule being buried next to Mr. Burns' toxic acid, this snot mutates into Mutant Rabbits, which take over the world, when released in 3014.[1]
  • Bender travels back in time to this year to put a stop to the rabbit mutation before it happens, where he meets Homer Simpson and becomes friends with him.[1]
  • Lisa Simpson brings Bender to Professor Frink to see if he's really from the future. Frink resets Bender's memory, causing him to remember his mission to kill Homer Simpson.[1]
  • Fry, Leela, and Professor Farnsworth travel to this time, using Bender and a portal, to help Bender with his mission.[1]
  • Professors Frink and Farnsworth study the DNA of the mutant rabbits and find out that Marge Simpson is also part of the DNA, which means that they either need to kill her or her children. When they find out Bart is fully responsible for it, they decide to kill him. The Simpsons propose a better idea, which is to travel to the future through Bender and kill the mutant rabbits.[1]
  • While The Simpsons and the Planet Express Delivery Crew are in the future, Bender hangs back with Maggie Simpson and the duo screws around in the past.[1]
  • Bender places a bet on the horse, Bender's Bounty, despite knowing that he'll die in the middle of the race. Bender places his bet and hets made when Bender's Bounty loses and laser blasts him to death.[1]
  • The Simpsons go back to the present through Bender, after saving the future.[1]
  • Unable to travel back to the future, since he's the portal, Bender decides to put himself into sleep mode for 1000 years, so that he can ride out this millennium and wake up in the year 3000.[1]
