The 20th century was the century of the 1900’s. It most notable in Futurama because Fry was a native of the twentieth century.[1]
The 20th century is referred as the Stupid Ages, probably due to the conflicts.[2] However, it was also the commencement of the Space Age. The Moon was first landed on in 1969, and satellites were common by the ending of this century.[3]
In the 31st century the common cold was remenbered as a extinct disease from the 20th century.[4][5]

Major events[]
- 1900s: Gwen's family starts making candy hearts out of earwig honey and bone meal.[6]
- 1930s: In one reality Hubert J. Farnsworth kills Hitler. In an other one Farnsworth attempts to kill Adolf Hitler, but misses and hits Eleanor Roosevelt instead.[7]
- 1947: The Roswell UFO incident is caused in New Mexico by the time-travelling Planet Express crew.[8]
- 1969: The Lunar landing site is established after the Apollo Lunar Module reaches the Moon's surface.[3]
- 1974: Philip J. Fry is born.[9]
- 1988: Fry fails to win the Nerd Search '88 Science Competition, which is won by Josh Gedgie.[10]
- 1999: Fry is frozen at the stroke of midnight when pushed by Nibbler. He wakes up in the future.[1][11]
