- "What? You've never seen a genius's wiener before?"
- ―Cubert's first words[source]
Cubert J. Farnsworth is a fraternal clone of Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth, but he takes on the role of his son. The DNA used to clone him was scraped from a growth on the Professor's back in 2989 and this is the day that is celebrated in lieu of an actual birthday. His nose is flattened due to the Professor accidentally leaving him in one of his earlier cloning tubes for too long.
He is a chubby boy with ginger hair in a similar style to Fry's. He has chubby cheeks, and he usually wears a watch and a light blue t-shirt with a Helium atom on it. He wears dark blue shorts and red trainers.
He is the sole heir to Planet Express and Professor Farnsworth's fortune, as he is Professor Farnsworth's closest living relative. He spends most of his time within the Planet Express Building with the Planet Express Crew and during his first appearance, "A Clone of My Own", appeared to criticize everything. He seems highly intelligent, but in reality he is usually just pointing out the logical flaws in the behaviors and actions of others, as well as the ways in which his father's inventions defy the laws of science.
Cubert is best friends with his classmate Dwight, the son of Hermes and LaBarbara. In an attempt to prove they are better than their fathers, but also earn their admiration, they go into business together. The result: the short-lived delivery company Awesome Express that was highly successful at first but quickly overwhelmed the two. At school they suffer the occasional bout of bullying at the hands of Brett Blob, the son of Horrible Gelatinous Blob.
Because he is Professor Farnsworth's one fraternal clone, he is technically his fraternal twin brothеr, but due to being much younger, Hubert treats him as a son and refers to him as such. According to Bender, Cubert is legally the same person as the Professor ("Overclockwise").
In "The Late Philip J. Fry", he was married to Leela after Fry vanished in the Forwards Time Machine only because Cubert reminded Leela of Fry. However, their marriage failed and the two divorced, with Cubert getting paid alimony and dating a robot Amy.
Personality[]
Cubert often displays behavior typical of a young boy, being that he's afraid of bullies, sometimes bases his actions on the imagination of youth, and the contradictory behavior of wanting his father's attention but not wanting to be embarrassed in public by his affections. However, he is also highly condescending on the thoughts and actions of others and typically insults their every effort; in his debut episode, he deemed majority of their actions "impossible" and labeled them as foolish for such actions or thoughts.
He can also be quite arrogant as he is aware he is smarter than many of those around him and that some of his bad behavior can be chalked up as youthful antics. He does occasionally show that he is concerned about not being more popular and not having friends besides Dwight Conrad and, occasionally, Tinny Tim.
Some of his bad behavior is revealed to be a defense tactic due to getting bullied so often at school but he fails to stop acting rudely towards those trying to help him.
Relationship with the Planet Express crew[]
Cubert usually is rude to them and often criticizes them on a variety of things ranging from their actions, fashion, and intelligence. Most of the crew seems to resent him, seeing him as a nuisance and typically do not hold back to put him in his place, such as firing back remarks of their own or slapping the back of his head or giving him electric shocks.
Relationship with Dr. Zoidberg[]
At first, Cubert hated Dr. Zoidberg, as seen in "A Clockwork Origin". As they spent more time together, Cubert realized how mean he was being and eventually opened up to reveal he was simply acting out due to being bullied at school. He learned from Zoidberg how to keep bullies away and the two became close until Farnsworth returned and Zoidberg gave Cubert back, stating the young boy is "a terrible person".
Relationship with Professor Farnsworth[]
At first Cubert was harsh to him and said he wanted to do something different with his life instead of taking over Farnsworth's business and inventions. However, he changed his mind about this after a dream showed him how to fix the ships engines during the plan to break Farnsworth out of the Near Death Star. Since then, they two have fallen into a close relationship although Cubert has sought Farnsworth's approval at different points, most notably when he and Dwight started their own business.
