The Mad Hatter Robot is a robot at the Hal Institute for Criminally Insane Robots who periodically yells out for the other inmates to swap seats, resulting in all robots in the room to rapidly move from one seat to another. Sometimes someone even speaking "change places" in a sentence can trigger him to shout it out.

Trivia

• The Mad Hatter Robot is based on the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, a novel by Lewis Carroll, published in 1865.
• In Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the label on the Mad Hatter's hat says 10/6, but Mad Hatter Robot's hat says 5/3, which is clearly just the most efficient (or robotic) expression for the number 10/6. The original Hatter's number referred to the price of the hat, 10 shillings and 6 pence, which would also make Mad Hatter Robot half as valuable.
• Interestingly, the Mad Hatter's obsession in the novel is changing places to perpetually have clean cups.
