    • The Comedy Central airing has Bender saying: "On the count of 3, you will awaken feeling refreshed as if Futurama had never been canceled by idiots, then brought back by bigger idiots. 1, 2, [snaps finger]".
    • The DVD and Blu-ray Disc has Bender saying: "This has been a test of the emergency Hypnotoad system. Had this been an actual hypnosis, you would go limp and watch whatever crap comes on next. Coming up next, Futurama! [snaps finger]".
  • Not counting the previous four films, this is the first episode to be produced in 16:9 widescreen resolution.
  • The crew comes back to Earth and crashes near the laboratory.
  • Zapp Brannigan crashes the Nimbus into the Planet Express ship.
  • All the characters, except Professor Farnsworth and Zapp Brannigan, die but are all resuscitated.
  • Scruffy the Janitor, Kif Kroker, and LaBarbara Conrad shoot from the rebirth machine and land on Dr. Zoidberg - Fry refers to them as "and the rest", a reference to the opening theme of Gilligan's Island.
  • The Leela-bot calls Nibbler by a pet name, "Pooperdoodle".
  • When Bender is thrown out of Studio 1²2¹3³ and lands on his back, he is able to roll himself over from having watched a turtle get up in "Crimes of the Hot".
  • When the Professor is telling what REALLY happened, he says "It's like a comedy central channel, and we're on it now!" and that's a reference to Futurama changing channels from Fox to Comedy Central.
  • When the Professor is telling what REALLY happened, Bender says "Yeah! We're back!" which is a reference to that Futurama is back after 7 years.
  • When this episode aired in Australia, Bender's voiceover lines at the beginning of the episode are different.[citation needed]
  • Bender's suit and dancing are a reference to Saturday Night Fever.
  • This is the first time a Planet Express member has committed a very serious and unforgivable crime, which is murder. Farnsworth committed murder on several adults to harvest their stem cells in order to resuscitate his crew.
  • The Birth Machine is one of only a few machines that Farnsworth invented that have actually worked.
  • In local syndication, Bender's monologue and the Comedy Central reference are removed.
  • This is the first episode in local syndication to have a "Viewer Discretion is Advised" disclaimer.
  • Both this episode, "Where No Fan Has Gone Before", and "Reincarnation" have their titles as the opening caption.
  • When the Professor says "Earth's central channel for shipping" Zoidberg laughs, since "shipping" is a term for character pairings.
