Turanga Morris is the father of Turanga Leela and the husband of Turanga Munda.

Morris is the son-in-law of Munda's mother and the grandson-in-law of Munda's grandmother. Morris is the maternal grandfather of Kif Kroker's offspring who are biologically Leela's kids (who are Amy Wong's adoptive children). Morris is also the father-in-law of Philip J. Fry I.

Appearance

He has one eye, a vertical mouth, as well as sheds his skin.

Personality

He is very irresponsible and encourages the consumption of alcohol by practically everybody including Leela when she was transformed into a teenager due to the effects of rejuvenating tar. He also tended not to punish Leela until she said he was supposed to send her to her room as punishment. However, he did love his daughter and wanted a better life for her by sending her to the surface and watching over her from the shadows.

His dream is to surf all the sewers of the Earth. However, he did not seem motivated to do it after the mutants were allowed on the surface and only did so when his wife briefly divorce him.

History

Since he is a mutant he lives in the sewers under New New York City.

He was reunited with Leela during the fourth season, in the episode Leela's Homeworld. He and his wife explained the truth of how she ended up on the surface and how they've been watching her.

He and his wife were finally allowed on the surface after the mayor allowed mutants to live among the surface dwellers. Munda briefly divorced him, since he wanted to stay in the sewers while she wanted to explore the universe. Although grief stricken, he decided to fall into his passion of surfing and fulfill his dream of surfing the planet's sewers while his daughter thinks he is having a mid-life crisis.
